Well, Stephen Jackson is now a Charlotte Bobcat and I hope he’s happy. After complaining that he wanted out of the Bay Area, as no person getting paid millions to play basketball should, he has been shipped out by the Golden State Warriors, for a bag of chips and a raspberry slurpee. As you can see above, he is absolutely stoked about the news.
Kelly Dwyer wrote a fine piece here on the whos, whys and wherefores of the move, remonstrating against the Warriors and Bobcats equally, in their utter miserable condition as places to play the sport of basketball. Outside of that, I think it’s time to once again emphasise how ridiculous the premise is, that sees men paid exorbitant amounts of money to play a sport loved by millions, who then will refuse to pay the sport they are paid those same millions for. Can you imagine that happening in any other walk of life? If you’re paid that type of coin, you do your job — don’t whinge and whine.
Oh, by the way, Captain Jack was traded along with Acie Law IV for Raja Bell and VladRad. Not a balance-of-power shifter in the NBA, but if you believe the long-standing rumours, the Cleveland Cavaliers have had (and may still have) their eyes on Jax.
And it also looks like the end of StephenJacksonMakesLoveToPressure.com, which I only just discovered. From now on, he makes love to Larry Brown, or he sits.
