Since we have just started the 2010-11 NBL season and you’ve just realised that it’s all back in action because you heard something on the news last night about a victory by the New Zealand Breakers over the Sydney Kings and you exclaimed, “what, the Sydney Kings are back?!?!” it’s time for you to do a bit of light reading on the season ahead. It’s time to catch up.

So here are a few NBL season preview pieces from around the web that I recommend you sink your teeth into:

  • Official NBL.com.au season previews: the grand-daddy of them all, as Matt McQuade previews all nine teams in the league, for the official NBL site.
  • Season Previews by Asa Schuster: As a man caught up with the Wollongong Hawks, you won’t be surprised to see that the Hawks are the first team on Asa’s season previews list. This article is worth a read for a more tongue-in-cheek look at 2010-11.
  • 12 Burning Questions for the new season: World basketball guru, Paulo Kennedy, takes a look at the big issues in the NBL right now. And great questions they are.
  • Punting Ace NBL season preview: It may be through a gambling site, but since this link was passed onto me by Daniel Eade (of Gaze.com.au) I knew that it had to be good. And comprehensive it is.
  • No suspensions – why not? Speaking of Mr Eade, here is an interesting, probing article he wrote, where he asks about the potential for a couple of suspensions that may have been forgotten by many.
  • Future NBL stars: Paul Davis of Gaze Hoops takes a look at four youngsters to look out for, as they rise through the ranks this season.
  • Chronicling the NBL advertisements: a collection of early/pre-season NBL videos that I compiled last week.
