The Los Angeles Lakers booked their ticket to the second round of the playoffs on Monday, completing a convincing 4-1 demolition of the talented Utah Jazz (game five boxscore). As you can expect, when it comes to LA, there is always the Hollywood element to it all — and there are no bigger stars at the moment than Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens (pictured above).
Of course, that is not enough to qualify as star “pulling power” alone in Hollywood. Check out comedy legend Eddie Murphy and his son, who were also courtside, watching Kobe Bryant put on 31 points and 4 steals to complete the series.
Whilst Andrew Bynum’s minutes were limited, as he continues his injury comeback, the other Lakers big men Lamar Odom (26 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks) and Pau Gasol (17 points, 11 rebounds) certainly took care of business, where they have not always in the past. Kanye West appreciated the Lakers’ efforts.
Even Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were in attendance, as Utah stars Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer both had disappointing nights for the departing Jazz. The Lakers will next face the winner of the Houston Rockets v Portland Trail Blazers series, which is currently 3-2 in the Rockets’ favour.
