The NBA and McDonalds have collaborated for numerous great commercials over the years. Who doesn’t remember Larry Bird and Michael Jordan‘s The Showdown back in the day? Or more recently, LeBron James and Dwight Howard?
Well, today I’ve unearthed a lesser-seen McDonalds NBA-related advertisement, featuring Alonzo Mourning, Scottie Pippen, Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing. Apparently back in 1996 when this commercial was on the television screens of America, McDonalds’ fries were part of a healthy NBA player’s diet.

But, as Shaq was told by Kareem back in the days of his Reebok Shaq Attaq, “that’s not enough”… I know you want more. So here are a couple more relatively rare McDonalds commercials, featuring Sir Charles Barkley — who else? Both of these spots airred in 1995. The kids these days wouldn’t recognise a Chuck that was this lean.
