Before Toni Kukoc made his way to join Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls, he was replicating his dunks. Check out this footage of Kukoc “the Pink Panther” dunking from the free-throw line twice (imagination must not have been in his repertoire) to beat a guy named “Zoran Bacalja [who] came literally from the street” to challenge Kukoc in the finals of this dunk competition during the 1991 All-Star Game in Sarajevo. Not only is the Jordan referencing in the dunks and Bacalja’s jersey interesting, but it’s worth noting that it it was mere months before the city of Sarajevo was brought to its knees as the siege that began on 5 April, 1992 lasted until 29 February, 1996.

If you’ve still got a hankering for some Kukoc, check out this dunk he did the year before, during the final of the FIBA World Championships. Nothing special, but it’s still a white boy dunking.

Also check out Vlade Divac in his pre-flopping days as a rookie.
