Forget all your talk of Rudy Gay and Michael Beasley changing places, word is now that Shawn Marion will be dealt by the Miami Heat, along with Marcus Banks, to the Toronto Raptors for Jermaine O’Neal and Jamario Moon, according to ESPN.
Word circulating the Internets today has involved talk of a trade that would send Amar’e Stoudemire to Miami, with Rudy Gay and Marion heading to Phoenix and Beasley packing his bags for Memphis. That one must be closed for discussions, as ESPN’s Ric Bucher seems pretty certain on this one according to the report.
Marion’s contract expires this Summer, whilst O’Neal is owed $21m for this season and a further $22m which comes off the books in the big summer of 2010, otherwise known as The Summer of LeBron. Banks has proven himself a questionable talent as a tweener guard, whilst Moon is a high-flying small forward who has not gained a sufficient share of playing time this year with the Raptors, as Andrea Bargnani has continued to emerge.
