It’s easy to forget sometimes that Pau Gasol comes from a non-English speaking background, given the ease the with which he navigates his way through interviews on American television. It’s well documented that the older of the two Gasol brothers is incredibly intelligent — which shows in his on-court play. In addition to a fine command of English, he spoke Spanish and Catalan as a child and later taught himself Italian and French.
