As NBA careers go, Danny Vranes did not make the greatest impact. In fact, you could really be excused for calling him a “draft bust,” after he was selected fifth overall in the 1981 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, yet went on to average 5.1ppg and 3.9rpg across seven NBA seasons. Sure, Vranes might have been drafted ahead of the likes of Danny Ainge, Herb Williams, Orlando Woolridge, Tom Chambers, Rolando Blackman, Kelly Tripucka and Larry Nance, just to name a few — but there was good reason. Vranes was as clean as they come — on and off the court. What was his secret? I know what you’re thinking, he must have used a deodorant soap, right? Wrong.
As Vranes pointed out to us in this 1985 commercial for Ivory Soap, he made a clean break from deodorant soaps, with a basic, natural soap. He feels clean and he smells clean.
