Looks like Chris Brown will not be part of the Phoenix 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, after being arrested on suspicion of felony battery on his girlfriend Rihanna. Following his alleged felony battery, R&B star Chris Brown has pulled out of his scheduled appearance Sunday at the 2009 NBA All-Star Game to be held in Phoenix. “Chris Brown has withdrawn from NBA All-Star events,” a spokesperson for the event confirmed to E! News.
The 19-year-old singer, arrested on Sunday night for allegedly assaulting girlfriend Rihanna, was originally planned to introduce the All-Star basketball players on Sunday, February 15 along with Phoenix Suns star Shaquille O’Neal and “America’s Best Dance Crew” winner Jabbawockeez.
Prior to his appearance at the event, Brown was supposed to play in the annual All-Star Celebrity Game on February 13. Previously, Brown and Rihanna both scrapped their performances at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards on February 8.
Rihanna is also expected to pull out of her Asian live concerts, which will be conducted in Indonesia on February 12 and Malaysia on the next day.
No word as yet on who, if anyone, will replace Brown.
