Tonight we watch the Houston Rockets take on the Boston Celtics in the much anticipated matchup of the Big Threes. If you can’t watch the game, well you can read my game notes in real time…

– Haywoode Workman is an official now!

– Yao is staying in the key and leaving Perkins wide open out there, whilst Scola is getting out there and fronting KG

– Rondo is the best rebounding PG in the league — what ever happened to J Kidd?

– Ray Allen is smooooth

– I love watching Yao get mad at himself…

– Yao has made some mistakes early and takes a seat with foul trouble.

– The C’s are really looking to run where possible, even when Yao is sitting.

– Timeout

 – 14-13 Boston, with the Celts on a 6-0 run

– KG is so agile, more than I remember. Amazing.

– The commentators mention for the 10,003rd time that Kevin Garnett is actually 7’0″ not 6’11″…

– Alston is looking spritely

– McGrady has not been a factor on the scoreboard

– 2 minutes to go in the 1st. BOS 23-20 HOU after an Artest trey

– Timeout by Doc

– T-Mac finally looks in rhythm with the jumper

– Rondo really is looking better and better every game

– Is it possible to not enjoy watching Leon Powe play?

– Here comes Mr No Conscience… Eddie House

– 28-22 Boston at the end of 1Q. Boston looks solid — especially Rondo.

=== 2nd Quarter ===

– Ron Artest: super strong

– Brent Barry… he gets around…

– The crowd is certainly telling the refs what they think on every call

– KG is enjoying a seat on the bench, as the Celts lead by 11 and they have unleashed the Big Baby on Houston

– Scola has come on and I predict this will steady things for the Rockets

– Yao appeared to be mugged under the basket with no call… and as the commentators note, “everything appears to be going Boston’s way”

– Timeout Houston to talk it over

– And in other results… Obama is leading 175-81 over McCain.

– They continue to front Yao with Big Baby now

– Aaron Brooks splits the ENTIRE Celts’ defense

– Big Baby is a one man wrecking crew down the other end, drawing the “and one” without even leaving the ground at any point!

– Why do top teams like Boston and Detroit manage to secure good youngsters on their benches? Good management, that’s why.

– Scola with a steal and an end-to-end fast break layup like a point guard!

– Houston is down 43-32 but looking like they have a chance now

– Aaron Brooks is a keeper.

– Perkins comes back into the game to give Davis a well-earnt rest

– Rondo drives and charges. I would have called a travel before that… but that sort of stuff is allowed in the NBA of course. Just ask José Calderon.

– Barry with a trey. The Rockets have a Big Three? Really? Where are they?

– CNN says 174-69 Obama

– Scola smooth baseline jumper with daylight guarding him

– Rockets within 4 as KG bricks a turnaround jumper

– Brooks burns up the court and even Rondo can’t stay with him – foul #3 on RR

– Brooks to shoot 2 and cut it to 2

– 4 minutes to go in the half and KG will now go to the line after the double team fouls him… somewhere… although the cameras did not detect it

– Eddie House, prepare to be burnt by Aaron Brooks

– T-Mac for three! He’s here… Rockets 5/13 from long distance, Boston 0/2

– Somehow T-Mac gets the role on a long jumper and Houston goes up by 1 after a 24-1 run!!!

– Brent Barry for the fastbreak layup and this crowd goes wild. Timeout Boston!

…and just like the girl at the party you couldn’t get, I’m going to tease and leave it at that — this game is worth enjoying sans blogging!!
