Let’s play the NBA “You Know” counting game. That’s right, for those of you that have been playing at home along with the Memphis Grizzlies recently, you know how this goes. For those of you that don’t, the object of the game is to count how many times each of the people in this video clip say the phrase, “You Know.” Get your score sheets ready — and watch.

Embedding the NBA’s video player isn’t working right now (thanks, NBA!) — so try this link to watch the “Arena Link Brandon Jennings” video and play along.

How did you go?

Here’s the count, according to my reckoning.

Steve Smith 1

Rick Kamla 2

Cheryl Miller 2

Brandon Jennings 46

That is some quality work, you know. Now, I don’t want to be nasty, as I think Brandon Jennings seems to be a great kid — he doesn’t act like a punk. He also has a tonne of talent out there on the court. Worth remembering as well, is that he is only 20 years-old. However, perhaps this is an example of where staying in school might have helped.

That said, I was an advocate of his turning to Europe for a year — there are lessons in life that can’t be taught in an educational institution. His time in Europe has apparently served him well on a personal development front, as he mentioned in this video. He’ll no doubt polish up the whole public-speaking thing with a bit more time in the NBA. And maybe a toastmasters course.

For those of you that missed it the last time around, this is round one of the “You Know” game, starring the Memphis Grizzlies:
