UPDATE (July 22, 2009): Actual footage of the Jordan Crawford on LeBron James dunk can be found here.

…by Courtney Lee.

There’s been a lot of conjecture about what has been dubbed as “DunkGate” — the incident that reportedly happened at the LeBron James Skills Academy where King James was dunked on by college player, Jordan Crawford. The story goes that James did not want the tape to be shown of the pickup game in question, because he didn’t footage getting out there of him being dunked on.

Have a look through youtube and you’ll find more than just the dunk above, featured Courtney Lee. The point is, LeBron has been, and will be, dunked on many times during his career. This one should have been no different. So I sincerely hope that the reason he had the tape confiscated was more to do with his lack of conditioning and the “unwritten rule” (mentioned by Henry Abbott at Truehoop) that pickup games are not to be recorded by media than his embarassment at being dunked on — that would be stupid.
