Top NBA Plays of the Week

Fans love the NBA for the big personalities and constant action on display on the court.  This week’s top plays feature big dunks and clutch baskets.

It’s the players that make the NBA so intriguing.  Unlike the NFL, where players are hidden behind a facemask, the NBA really allows their players personalities to shine.  It’s the players that make the NBA so intriguing and things become even more fun for fans when they can cheer on their favorite players on their daily fantasy teams.  Suddenly a player’s big game becomes a lot more exciting when there’s something on the line for the viewer beyond the highlight reel.  If you’re interested in Daily Fantasy, check out this review of FanDuel which gives a good outline of how you can take your NBA fandom to the next level.

Giannis Throws Down with Power

Bucks big man Giannis Antetokounmpo has treated fans with some massive dunks over the course of his career, and the one he slammed home in Wednesday’s game against the Trail Blazers looked like it nearly broke the rim.

Antetokounmpo was essentially doing mop-up duty, as Malcolm Brogdon had attempted a three-pointer, which resulted in an airball. Antetokounmpo was able to recover the loose ball, and he then threw down a massive slam — even while being fouled by Maurice Harkless — which could nearly be felt through television sets.

The Greek Freak gave Harkless a solid staredown as well, which the Blazers forward seemed to be amused by.

Kawhi Shows Confidence in his Teammate

Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard is the ultimate closer, but he let one of his teammates do the deed during Tuesday night’s game.

The Raptors were preparing to inbound the ball with just over two seconds remaining, and Leonard did eventually come open at the top of the key, but Danny Green got close to the basket. He received a pass, and drained a nice fadeaway jumper which served as a the eventual game-winner, as only 0.5 seconds remained.

Leonard was confident in his teammate, and he knew it was going in from the moment the ball left Green’s hands, though. Check out how he celebrated before the ball even hit the rim.

Vince Dunks His Way to the Record Books

Hawks veteran Vince Carter is a timeless classic, and on Wednesday, he was able to hit a huge milestone.

And Carter did that by doing the same thing he’s been known for doing throughout his career — dunking.

Carter showed he can still throw the ball home with authority — even at 41 years of age — and he threw down a monster dunk in the final second of Wednesday’s game against the Raptors. That put him over 25,000 points for his career.

Teammate Trae Young showed Carter some love after the game.

VC has treated fans to so many highlight-reel dunks over the years, and he’s a pure scorer, so we’re glad to see him in the 25K-point club.
